Featherpaw gazed at him with thoughtful eyes before looking at Rainefall.The she-cat nodded to him." Well, I've been praticing my hunter's crouch." He said first, crouching down silently to the ground, his head lowered and his tail stiff just inches above the ground.
Barktooth listen closly, and heard very little from his apprentice. "Good. Im not sure how id train you to do a hunter's crouch; your options change when you loose a leg." he demonstrated his hunter's crouch, his front to paws on the ground and his one back leg supporting him slightly higher than a normal crouch.
" I could help." Rainefall offered, with an amused purr." Don't worry." She reassured the tom and brushed her tail tip into his flank, leaning against his missing back leg to support his balance.
Barktooth purred, and leaned lower, taking on the look of a normal cat. He sat up. "Thanks." he meowed gratefully. "I havent been able to experience anything normal, even a hunter's crouch, in many moons. I can still hunt, but Im too loud." he meowed the last part bitterly.
" It's okay, don't blame yourself.Your not different, just remember that." She mewed, moving away.Featherpaw watched silently with sympathy for his mentor. " I won't give up on you, Barktooth." He promised, licking his mentor's shoulder, affectionately
Rainefall and Featherpaw nodded.Rainefall then sat infront of them, wrapping her tail neatly aorund her paws." What shall we practice today?" Featherpaw mewed, rising up from his crouch, his ears flicking from the noises all around them.
Featherpaw instantly nodded, seriousness flooding into his eyes.Rainefall backed away until her paws reached the edge of the hollow, then sitting on her paws, whiskign her tail around them briefly, her eyes gazing at them. Featherpaw then slowly lowered himself into battle position, ready to learn.
Barktooth nodded, hearing Fatherpaw's movement. "For now, simple moves." he meowed. "First, a fairly straitforward move." With amazing speed, he leapt forward, hitting Featherpaw lightly atop the head with his paw, claws sheathed, before he could react. "Of course, in battle you'd hit a whole lot harder and your claws would be unsheathed."
Featherpaw almost stumbled ontop of his paws from the fake blow.He sprung backwards awkwardly with a jolt of instinct.His eyes springing with exictement of the move. Rainefall narrowed her face away, chuckling. Featherpaw flattened his ears at her with a small glare.He then stood infront of his mentor, agnling his body straightly before becoming silent for a few heartbeats, then with a reflex jolt he jumped forward, repeating his mentor's moves, his paws outstretched and pawing his mentor's forehead. before jumping back quickly.His flanks rising and falling with short breathes.
Featherpaw ducked his head lower and paced himself to the other side.His face bleak until he straightened up and his fur started to bristle as if facing a real enemey.He flexed his muscles, ready to fight.He waited for his mentor's okay to attack, not sure if he should attack first.
Featherpaw took the blunt but quickly slid to the side afterward, leaping onto Barktooth's back, his paws padding, sheathed.He then leapt off his mentor and landing infront of him once more.Catching a quick breathe before his mentor could react quickly, he lounged at Bartooth with quickening speed, landing a firm blow to his head, paws sheathed.Featherpaw swirved to the side of him, panting.
Barktooth senced his happyness. "Next up, climbing." he meowed. He approached one of the trees, leping up its trunk and onto a branch. "C'mon!" he called down to Featherpaw.
Featherpaw didnt held ack, he instantly leapted onto the trunk, his claws sinking into the fresh bark, one of his paws slipping but he thrushed himself to a lower branch below his mentor.Rainefall leaned in closer, trying to get a good view.
" I've climbed trees all my life..." He sighed." Which hasnt been very long.." He added but solemly followed his mentor, observing each position of branch and the crests of bark embedded in the surface of the tree.He climbed up each branch, each time gazing around at the view.
Barktooth smiled. "Just keep going!" He leaped up the highest branch, unknowingly landing on an adanboned bird's nest. He paws, slipped, and he scrabbled to stay on the branch. All at once, he slipped, falling through open air through the least dense side of the tree. He was unable to twist in air like most cats can, and instead plumented to the ground with a sickening thund.
Rainefall's mouth dropped in utter horrow.Featherpaw gaped his mouth open aswell and quickly released his claws from the bark." No don't! You'll fall aswell!" Rainefall yowled loudly as she dashed over to Barktooth's side, and lifting his head up with her nose.Featherpaw's heart started to beat rapidly as his paws clamped back down onto the bark, but his body weight pulled him to the bottom, his claws ripping into the bark in streams of shredded tree, until he was close enoguh to the ground and quickly jumped off, pieces of bark flew onto his pelt as he hurried to his mento'rs side." Barktooth!? Barktooth can you here me?" Rainefall called, her eyes widening doubling their size.
"Applefern go get Silentecho!" Rainefall yowled as she bounded over to Barktooth's side and slowly started to nudge the tom up." Are you okay!? Can you walk?" Featherpaw rasped as he went to the other side of his mentor's body, ready to help get him back.
"Hang on!" Featherpaw glanced at Rainefall with horror filled eyes before the she-cat nodded and started to lift the tom up by his scruff and attempted to drag him, while Featherpaw rested the lower body of Barktooth on his back.
Applefern rushed to camp to find a medicine cat, and to tell Moonwatcher what happened. (Silentecho is never being RPed!!! Can I get Odessypaw instead?) ~Applefern~
Featherpaw lowered his ears but said nothing, neither did Rainefall as for her mouth was full of Barktooth's scruff as they cats msotly carried the tom back to camp.
Barktooth padded in with Featherpaw and Rainefall. "What do you know from before?" he asked his apprentice.

Barktooth mearly sat down. "Good." he meowed with a soft purr. "I dont need to worry too much about teaching you to fight."
